EDIT: The version 3.0 update made this fantastic game even more so, as the new stage builder is the most robust and customizable it has ever been, making this version of "Stage Builder" the best it's ever been. All in all, for those reading who has a Nintendo Switch and still haven't got this game yet, what are you waiting for? This is easily one of, if not the best Smash game to date, and it is definitely a must-have for switch owners, as it is a masterpiece that lives up to it's name in spades. The smash mode is fantastic as well, as you can FINALLY turn off stage hazards if you want too, as well as customize the rules to your heart's content. This also offers hundreds of hours of replayability, and getting through each battle in the mode is very rewarding, as it not only rewards you based off of difficulty (which offers a fun challenge in and of itself), but it just makes you feel accomplished after tackling something you couldn't do before you got and/or leveled up your current spirit. The World of Light mode is surprisingly amazing as well, as you level up spirits so that you can get better in battles. The classic mode now has different paths for each character, which totals up to 70+ ways to go through classic mode, which are all very fun. All of this would be enough for this game to be fantastic, but the mad lads at Nintendo, Sora, and Bandai Namco made sure this game would stand out from the rest. The gameplay is addictive and amazing, the visuals are gorgeous, as they are detailed and pop with colors, the modes in this game are all fun, as each one of them has hundreds upon hundreds of hours of playtime, which is thanks to the overwhelming amount of replay value this game has, the roster is the best it has ever been, as it has every character from each Smash Bros games before it, as well as a few more, the stage selection is also the best it has ever been, with over 100 stages, the music and the amount of it is all fantastic stuff, and the overall package just kicks so much ass (no pun intended). Thankfully, that is far from the case, as this is definitely the ultimate Smash Bros that fans of the series, like myself, have dreamed for. This was because I didn't want it to suffer from a few issues that kept it from actually feeling like the ultimate Smash Bros. NEXT: Super Smash Bros. After hearing that this was going to be called "Super Smash Bros Ultimate", I was pumped and a bit nervous. Here's hoping Nintendo has plans to introduce the ability to do so in the near future. friend) and taking on a couple of level nine CPUs would surely be a lot more fun. As fun as it is to win, do you not eventually get bored of easy victory after easy victory? Pairing up with your victim (err. Perhaps you're the one on the other side of the unbalanced friendship in this scenario. If you're a skilled Smash player, you can relate to this too.

The chance to team up with a friend and have a break from all that would make us feel much better about our sub-par Smash skills. Unless you have been playing every version of the game religiously since the late 90s, chances are most of the players you encounter online won't exactly be the most fun competitors to square off against. Honestly, Smash Ultimate online is not exactly the most fun place to hang out. Even if it was massive oversight by Nintendo, why has it not been fixed nine months later? Allowing friends to play online together not only seems like an option that should have been included when the game was launched, it's something that must be very easy to add.
